World’s Best Brisket

  • 1 beef brisket 8-12 pounds
  • 1 jar natural honey
  • 1 tbs onion powder
  • 1 tbs garlic powder
  • ½ tbs cinnamon
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 2 tbs ‘smoked flavouring (to taste)
  • 3 – 5 cups apple cider (hard if preferred)

Let brisket marinate in cider overnight, if possible. Rub brisket down with smoked flavouring, working it into the meat; then rub in all the spices, one by one; then cover with honey all around the top and edges.

Place brisket in large baking pan, pour cider over brisket, then cover with heavy duty foil. Bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes, reduce heat to 300 and cook for 30 minutes for every pound, or better – to 25C degrees and cook all day long. Remove and slice.

Serves plenty.
